About Me

Hi! My name is Shulie (Shulamit) Madnick. I am a food and travel writer and photographer. I focus on exploring culture, history, traditions and rituals, environmental impact, identity, and linguistics through food and travel.

My Israeli Indian and Jewish background inspires this exploration. I was born in Jerusalem to parents who immigrated to Israel from Mumbai.

My articles and photographs were published in The Washington Post food section, Haaretz, and The Forward, among other publications. My Jewish India photography series is archived at the Beit Hatfutzot (ANU) museum's library archives in Tel Aviv. I serve on the Gabriel Project Mumbai's advisory board.
